Earlier this year, Qualcomm announced Snapdragon 850 processor for Windows 10 on ARM devices and this new chip is apparently more powerful than theĀ predecessor Snapdragon 835. The Geekbench listing has revealed even more information about the Snapdragon 850.

ā€œBuilding on the portfolio of Always On, Always Connected PCs established over the past year, we are thrilled to work with Samsung to help offer consumers true mobility combined with the productivity and entertainment features of Windows 10,” Qualcomm said in a statement published earlier this year.

The report claims that Snapdragon 850 would offer a 30% improvement over the Snapdragon 835 in terms of CPU performance when it’s running Windows 10 April 2018 Update (version 1803). While it may sound like a moderate improvement over the current generation Always Connected PCs, the reality might actually be better.

SD850 benchmark

Technically,Ā Geekbench is not native Windows ARM software, so it is a benchmark running in emulation. That means we require native benchmarks to estimate Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 performance. Given that Geekbench is not a native ARM software,Ā the actual performance of SD850 would be far better than SD835.
