Microsoft is working on many new features which are going to be released with the next major update in the spring of 2019. One of the new features which Microsoft plans to include is the support for kaomoji.
“Kaomoji” (Face Characters) are now widely used across social networks and Microsoft will be including built-in support for Windows 10. The emoji will now come with symbols and kaomoji like the popular (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻.
Kaomoji is now the latest trend which relies exclusively on regular text and which has grown in popularity lately. With kaomoji now being used widely, Microsoft is looking to provide easy access to the most common face characters for Windows 10 users.
Microsoft has already included the support for Kaomoji in the latest Windows 10 preview build 18305 and is available for Insiders in the Fast Ring. The kaomoji is included in the emoji UI within the operating system.
For testing, users would need to press the Windows + semicolon keys in a text box to be able to use the new kaomoji with the latest preview build.
“Ever tried to type an em dash, and couldn’t remember the Alt key code? Wanted to post “flipping the table” in social media, but couldn’t remember the sequence of characters? When you press WIN+(period) or WIN+(semicolon), in addition to emoji the picker that appears will now include symbols and kaomoji too!” Microsoft explains.
The Emoji UI now comes with a dedicated button for symbols like punctuations, currency, language symbols and math. All the symbols can be inserted in a conversation or chat just by clicking on them.
If you are enrolled in the Fast Ring then you will be able to test the kaomoji after installing the build 18305. Do let us know your thoughts on the kaomoji support in the comments below.
