Microsoft Teams was publicly released today after a couple of months being offered as a preview service. Today Teams gained the general availability for all Office 365 Business customers who are subscribed to the Business Essentials, Business Premium, and Enterprise E1, E3 or E5 plans, available in 181 markets and 19 languages.

Teams grew a lot during its preview time, receiving a massive update a week ago that improved the service and made it a way more powerful, but it’s yet missing external guest access for non-federated accounts. Looks like this feature is coming in late June, as Microsoft is indeed working on it.

In a statement made to MSPoweruser a Microsoft spokerson made it clear that the company is working on support for external guest access. Details are not quite clear, as the source didn’t mention any technical details. The rollout of this feature is expected by the end of Q2 2017.
