Over the last few days, it had become hard to doubt that the Microsoft’s rumoured Andromeda folding device was on the way. A report from reliable sources just revealed that Microsoft may have changed its plans after the discovering some issues and the latest reorganization that saw Terry Myerson leaving the company.

The company never discussed this foldable mobile device publicly and everything we know so far is rumours. Microsoft is not planning to cancel the Andromeda project for the time being but the report suggests that the project has been pushed back to 2019 and it’s not a bad thing.

The problem, according to the report, is that the Andromeda OS, which was supposed to power the dual-screen device is not yet ready to be integrated into Windows 10 due to quality and timing issues.

It’s not a bad thing

Samsung is also working on a foldable phone that will be ready for 2019 unveiling. While it’s bad to be late but it’s also bad to be too early with something that isn’t ready for masses. If Microsoft ships an unfinished product, it’s likely that the product will fail to attract the masses.

There’s still no compelling reason

The mobile and tablet haven’t seen anything remarkable in a few years now, and barely anyone is showing signs that they’ll step forward. The dual-screen device is said to be the next big thing. It will be a phone or whatever that you can bend at the center into a compact, more portable product.

But there’s just no real want, and definitely need, for foldable phones. The report suggests that the tech giant does not see any demand for a device like the one that has been the subject of a number of patents. The reports have confirmed the status of the foldable device to that of a disruptive game changer which is supposed to create a new category of devices.

Surface Andromeda
A concept of Andromeda by David Breyer

When there is a change in design for the mobile industry, it happens gradually. Microsoft is not supposed to rush and unveil a criticism worthy unfinished product.

When ZTE unveiled its foldable phone, plenty of buzz was generated but now you never hear about the Axon M. That’s because the foldable phone concept is still a work in progress. Even for Microsoft, that’s going to be incredibly difficult to plan out, build, and grow in a new market.

To define a new category, there needs to be a clear purpose. There are many technologies that the people never wanted at first. But once it was offered to them, they wanted it.

There’s no doubt that foldable phone would cost you a lot more than a smartphone or a basic laptop. Want something that is innovative and out of the box? You’re going to have to pay extra for it.

The customers will be wondering whether its right pay over $1,000 for foldable phones. Of course, there will definitely be a number of consumers and businesses ready to spend big bucks.

The app gap

Obviously, Andromeda’s biggest problem is the app gap. The Windows 10 app store still lacks the apps and games most users want to use, that is why Microsoft is betting big on PWA.

Andromeda device should be something that you can carry with you everywhere you go, and it’s your hub, your digital productive journal that can handle common tasks better than a phone or laptop does.

Microsoft blew their opportunity with mobile – which is very unfortunate since they owned mobile until Apple came into the market. Microsoft failed at both mobile and tablet market, but they found success with Surface Pro lineup as they created a whole new product category that everyone has been trying to copy.

Pushing back the launch of Andromeda is not a bad thing as this would give Microsoft more time to ensure that both software and quality app store is ready for everyone. Andromeda would have to be appealing so that people buy it even without strong third-party apps support.

In the era of mobility, the battle between the best personal digital assistant is getting more crucial. Every big tech giant is investing so many resources behind the development of the foremost personal digital assistant.

Recently, a research conducted by an award-winning digital agency named Stone Temple reveals interesting data about the Google Assistant, Cortana, Siri and Alexa. The study reveals that Google Assistant is the most accurate assistant, followed by Microsoft’s Cortana. While Alexa and Siri topped the list when it comes to giving incorrect answers.

To get the more accurate data researcher asked nearly 5000 different questions to each personal digital assistant. While Siri fails to give the correct answers, the researcher found it’s actually the most enjoyable to chat with.

Apple’s assistant is the funniest and responds with the highest number of jokes. Of course, Google Assistant answers is the most questions and has the highest percentage answered fully and correctly. While Alexa has made a significant gain over the years.

Although the report also reveals “Alexa had the most incorrect responses, but also scaled the number of questions responded to the most by far. Siri was right there with Alexa in the number of incorrect answers, but this only increased marginally over the 2017 results,”.

Furthermore, Cortana’s performance also increased from 53.9% to 64.5%, followed by Siri from 31.4% to 40.7%. Overall, compared to last year’s data each personal digital assistant made significant progress in reducing the gap with Google.

Here take a note that, the study does not cover connectivity and integration of the digital assistant with other applications and services. And this is the most important factor of this study as well. Because all tech giants are working very actively to deliver the streamlined experience with various applications.

We are at the very early stage of the evaluation of personal digital assistant. Maybe in the next couple of year, we will see the huge impact of them on our day to day life. How do you see predict the impact of personal digital assistant in your daily life? Let us know in the comments below.

It’s been a while since we are hearing reports about Project Andromeda and Windows Core OS. But what it actually is? Why does it matter to you? And what are the benefits of it?

Windows Core OS is a modular operating system with composers for various devices including mobile, desktop, ARM, tablets, wearable, smart watches and mixed reality.

Why do we need Windows Core OS?

Actually Windows isn’t a universal operating system. Based on device it varies. One Core is the only universal element that is shared across the different variant of Windows OS. Above that it is completely different based on device. But what Microsoft trying to achieve with Windows Core OS is to getting rid of all the various product specific variant components (e.g. Windows 10, Windows 10 Mobile, Windows Server, IOT). It mark “Windows OS” as a whole and device manufacture can choose components from it for a specific device.

Windows Core OS is the modular version of Windows and it includes composers for various device categories (mobile, mixed reality, desktop, wearable, even Xbox). Project Andromeda is a mobile composer of Windows Core OS and Project Polaris is the desktop composer of Windows Core OS.

Another huge component in Windows Core OS is CShell. Basically CShell is what we see and interact with. The ultimate goal of the CShell is to bring an adaptive, scalable UI across the devices, which includes desktop, tablets, mobile, Xbox and HoloLens.

If all of this is going over your head then consider this simple example: Futuristic mystical foldable Surface Phone won’t be running Windows 10 Mobile or Windows 10 Pro/HOME but instead it will be running “Windows 10”.

Bottom line

So the bottom line is what Microsoft is going to achieve with Windows Core OS is to remove different variants of Windows and gives us a universal base of the OS. Now that shell-level is extensible that means windows is modular. Windows Core OS will deliver high performance, more flexibility, occupy less space, deliver consistent experience with Cshell across the device. And this Microsoft’s efforts is going to put Windows OS to next threshold in next decade.

The 2-in-1 market is pretty saturated now. All the big OEMs have flooded the market with devices and needless to say, there’s something for every price range. But what happens when you just want a good affordable Windows 2-in-1 that won’t break the bank, but work fine? Enter Chuwi CoreBook, the latest offering from Chuwi. It’s a 2-in-1 Windows Notebook, and it’s just perfect, we haven’t found a single flaw with it.

Chuwi CoreBook design

With a sturdy well-built body coming with an aluminium alloy enclosure, it’s amazingly light while giving off a feeling of durability at the same time. Perfect for travelling, the lightweight Chuwi CoreBook can be whipped out of the bag anytime anywhere on the commute to get some work done.

The CoreBook is designed pretty well and feels great when held. With it’s unique 2.5D curved glass edges and the ergonomic design, it’s hard to complain about the looks. I was delighted to hold the device in my hands and it certainly screams premium from the looks.

There are front facing and rear facing cameras and they take pretty crisp photos. While you shouldn’t expect stellar shots out of it, it is actually pretty decent. What I really love about the cameras are their placements. It gives the CoreBook a sleek look and needless to say, I like it a lot.

Chuwi CoreBook Display

I have already said that the CoreBook display looks amazing but that was based on the design. When you actually fire up the device, you’ll be greeted by a beautiful display. With a Full HD(1920 x 1080) OGS display, everything looks crisp and clear on the 13.3 inch touchscreen. I could crank up the brightness to 350 nits, and I have to say, Chuwi has done a great job. Whether working in outdoors or in your room, the display looks perfect.

I am not a fan of too bright displays. They hurt my eyes a lot and I always have to manually adjust the brightness of all devices I use. The CoreBook was an exception. The display looked comfortable enough. With it’s fully laminated display the glare was absolute minimum in the outdoors and I found no difficulty in using the touchscreen.

Chuwi CoreBook Connectivity

The selection of ports is a major headache on all laptops and 2-in-1s now. No matter what device you buy, you have to compromise on one port or the other. Fortunately the Chuwi CoreBook doesn’t cut much in the connectivity department.

There’s a USB-C 3.0 port, a micro USB port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. There’s also a microSDXC card slot, so you can increase the storage capacity whenever you want. While I do miss the omission of a full fledged USB port, the inclusion of the high speed USB-C port has taken away most of my worries.

There’s also a fingerprint sensor for Windows Hello support. The sensor works fast enough and I use it frequently. I needed a few days to get used to the placement of the physical power and volume buttons on the left. The buttons felt clicky and great and I have no qualms about it.

Chuwi CoreBook Keyboard

I am very picky about keyboards. It needs to feel right and fortunately the CoreBook doesn’t disappoint. Being a 2-in-1 device, it has a detachable keyboard that latches itself to the device with Pogo pins. The hinge is sturdy and doesn’t feel flimsy like many other 2-in-1s I tested.

Chuwi Corebook

As for the keyboard itself, it feels great. Typing is a smooth experience with plenty of key travel. The keys are clicky and have a great response something that I am pretty particular about. The touchpad is okay and I found it to be okayish during my short period of usage.

The CoreBook also has stylus support and there’s an included pen. While it’s no Surface Pen, it’s not bad either. Considering the face that you’re getting it bundled with the device is an added plus and with 1024 levels of pressure, inking on Windows 10 is a smooth experience.

Chuwi CoreBook Specs

While it’s all great outside, I wondered about the insides of the CoreBook. Often OEMs cut on the hardware part to keep costs down and I was worried that Chuwi would do the same. However, Chuwi amazed me again.

Powered by the Intel Core m3 Kaby Lake processor, the Chuwi CoreBook pulls through everyday tasks like a breeze. With a maximum frequency of 2.6GHz and hyperthreading on the two physical cores, everyday tasks are handled easily. The 8GB RAM is enough for light multitasking activities. Backed up by the Intel HD Graphics 615, watching 4K videos and playing some light games will not be a problem at all.

Chuwi CoreBook

As for storage options, you get a 128GB SSD drive included. It can be further expanded using the microSDXC expansion slot. Windows 10 runs fine on the specs and I found myself using the CoreBook more and more for my daily tasks.

Final thoughts

I have to say that I’m thoroughly impressed by it. There are almost no noticeable flaws and for the price, it’s a amazing device. Everything feels great about it. It’s light in weight, sexy in looks, beast when it comes to performance and easy on the pocket. There’s nothing to hate about the device.

The CoreBook is currently being sold at an attractive price of $499 on Indiegogo for the first backers and is expected to ship within March 2018 if you order it now. You can order it by going to the Indiegogo page here and for the $499 price you are getting the CoreBook, the keyboard and the stylus.

The funding has reached well over 1135% and there’s a strong interest in the device. I have fallen in love with the device and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is in search of a good affordable 2-in-1 device.

See more about the Chuwi CoreBook here.

Happy New Year to all our readers and fans of Windows Latest! From all the members and the team of Windows Latest, I wish you all a Happy New Year! Here’s to wishing that we continue to grow, thrive and publish more stuff for you all to read and enjoy!

We have come a long way since our beginning. Starting with a few dedicated members, the Windows Latest team has considerably grown in 2017. We have had more footfalls than ever before and we have rewarded our readers with more articles than ever before.

With the start of another new year, we want to present to you our goals for 2018. We will be covering Microsoft news like usual, and you can expect us to deliver quality articles like before. Ranging from Windows, Surface, Xbox and the ever dying Windows Phone, we will cover it all. While other Windows related news sites might have moved on to cover Microsoft services on competing platforms, we will not do so.

Microsoft Windows remains our primary focus, and we will stick to that. While sometimes you may get a few articles focusing on popular Microsoft services on Android and iOS, that will not be the majority. We know what our readers love and we will be true to our focus. Windows Phone may be almost dead, but as long as it breathes, we will cover it.

2018 will be an exciting year for Microsoft Windows. With Windows on ARM PCs hitting worldwide in the second half of the year, there’ll be one more device category in the Windows 10 family. Windows 10 will also be getting a feature update sometime in March with Redstone 4.

And then there’s the mythical Surface Phone. The supposed Holy Grail that may(or may not) launch sometime in 2018. With Microsoft’s repeated setbacks in the Mobile market, we eagerly wait for the next big thing. With all reports pointing to a launch in 2018, we will be on our toes to cover any news of the Surface Phone, no matter how little or insignificant it might seem. We know our readers love them, and we will do justice to their hopes.

The Windows Latest team would again like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy New Year! May the new year bring smiles and prosperity to you and your near and dear ones. Stay well, stay safe, keep smiling and keep reading Windows Latest! Thank you!

With the release of the Fall Creators Update, Windows 10 has become arguably better. The OS has got better, the design language has got an overhaul and users are (mostly) happy. While the app situation is still terrible, Microsoft is doing a good job with it’s own set of apps.

Barring Groove, Microsoft has been providing feature updates to most of it’s apps. But for some time, if noticed, the inbox apps for Windows 10 Mobile has become sparse. Sure, the important ones get an update once a while, but what about the ones like Calculator, Voice Recorder, People etc. ?

Windows 10 Mobile
Where are the new inbox app updates for Windows 10 Mobile?

While the PC versions of most of the inbox apps have been updated with Fluent Design support, the Mobile versions have not. Also, as noticed first by the folks over at Aggiornamentilumia, Microsoft has stopped compiling apps for ARM, the recent example being Windows Maps.

What does this mean for me?

Nothing. You would still get to use your phone as it is, just forget about getting new app updates. A glaring example of the dire situation is the Photos app. The last update for the Photos app for Windows 10 Mobile was months ago. While the PC version has cool new editing features, the Mobile version is still a buggy mess.

Windows 10 Mobile
The Photos app for Windows 10 Mobile is a buggy mess

The latest example, Windows Maps has been another story. The Maps app on Windows 10 Mobile has always been riddled with bugs. Each update has fixed a bug and broke a feature. The Feedback Hub is riddled with reports of Maps and GPS being broken.

As spotted, Microsoft has recently compiled a new version of the Maps app. Strangely the app has been compiled for Windows 10 builds 16299 and above. While Windows 10 PC is on 16299 and above, Windows 10 Mobile is still stuck on 15254 and below builds.

Windows 10 Mobile
The latest version of maps app won’t run on Windows 10 Mobile (courtesy: aggiornamentilumia)

The app update, if pushed out, will certainly not come to Windows 10 Mobile, and will be a big blow for sure.

Apps on Windows 10 Mobile, dead?

Kind of. While you should not hold your hopes for any more new feature updates, bug fixes should and will come. A few apps like, Groove, Movies & TV, Store and Outlook get regular updates and are almost on par with their PC counterparts. The other apps like Photos, People, Calculator, Voice Recorder, Alarms & Clocks, are however far behind.

These apps haven’t received a single update since May 2017, while the PC ones got updates last week only. There’s no presence of Fluent Design in any of these apps on Mobile, and we expect that they’ll not receive them too.

Windows 10 Mobile
The current version of the People app on Windows 10 Mobile(left) and on Windows 10 PC(right). Notice the visual and UI changes.

Simply speaking, until there’s a major bug on one of the Mobile apps which haven’t been updated in months, Microsoft will leave them as it is. They have simple stopped compiling apps for ARM and we are sure, that the rest of Microsoft’s inbox apps will follow suite, soon.

With Microsoft’s upcoming take on Mobile, Andromeda, arriving soon, Windows 10 Mobile will be neglected more than ever. It looks like Microsoft, not happy by just declaring Windows 10 Mobile dead, plans to stop developing the Mobile versions of the inbox apps too. Maybe they are finally giving the cue to ditch the platform, and move on. To where? iOS and Android, the new Mobile heaven for the Mobile first, Cloud first Microsoft.

Sad times, really.

2017 has been arguably one of the best years for the smartphone market. Apple introduced the iPhone X, revolutionizing it’s market. We got the beautiful Galaxy S8 and Note 8 from Samsung, both phones being the best of their segments. iOS and Android has strengthened it’s foundations deeply in the handheld market. But what about Microsoft? Where’s the long rumored Surface Phone?

With Windows absent from the smartphone market, Android and iOS has virtually become the sole player. Apps are leaving the store every week, developers are losing interest and patience, users, both enterprise and consumers, are leaving the platform in hundreds. Windows Phone’s share, popularity, usage, everything has hit an all time low. Ask the fans, users and developers, no one has any praise for Microsoft’s mobile strategy.

Surface Phone
Nadella’s Windows Phone strategy has been nothing but failure

With Microsoft’s Surface event coming up in October, many hoped that the Surface Phone may finally make an appearance. It would serve as a beacon of hope for the many die-hard fans of the platform and would place trust in the heart of the many developers and OEMs. Microsoft needs a presence in the Mobile market and that has to be done via their own OS, not through Android and iOS.

Why we need the Surface Phone

Microsoft has long been a player in the smartphone market. Starting from the Windows Handheld devices to Windows Phones, the Redmond Giant maintained their hold. The demise of the Lumia lineup led to Windows Phone’s sunsetting. Though Microsoft doesn’t want to admit, it has been losing it’s business focused customers too.

HP, one of Microsoft’s biggest OEMs have started considering Android for their next venture. With lack of any definite direction in the Mobile market, Microsoft will lose more customers than before. Prime examples being the Norwegian Council and the NYPD. Both of them had put faith in Microsoft’s mobile platform but gave up.

The time is high now. Microsoft needs to get the trust of it’s partners and customers back. The Surface Phone would be the perfect solution to that. A phone that runs full Windows 10. What’s not to love?

Surface Phone
The time is ripe for the Surface Phone to appear

Full Windows 10 in a Phone

The Surface Phone is believed to run full Windows 10 in the clamshell body of a smartphone. Coupled with the Surface branding, the device will scream premium. Connect it with an external screen, and Continuum will greet you. All your x86 apps, the familiar Windows 10 desktop and all those apps, the phone will replace your PC.

The enterprise customers will just dig it! Even the average customer will benefit out of it. Everybody wants to carry only one device nowadays. The Surface Phone will be the ultimate Mobile device. Market it right, and Microsoft would get an insta win over the Samsung and iPhones.

Continuum has been proved to be a successful idea and even Samsung copied it. Sadly, Microsoft stopped updating Continuum on the current phones. With CShell, Microsoft is attempting to correct it’s errors and it looks like they are heading for the win.

Launch the Surface Phone before it’s too late!

With all the negativity around, one would have guessed that Microsoft would take some counter measures. Sadly that doesn’t seem the case, as the Redmond Giant has decided to keep mum on any news of the Ultra-mobile Phone. The fans know it is coming, the media knows about it and even the CEO has hinted at something. Then why the delay?

Bluntly speaking, the Andromeda OS that’ll power the Surface Phone, is not yet ready. It’s being developed and if leaks are to be believed, it’ll hit the market sometime next year. While pundits may argue that Microsoft should launch the game changer only when they’re ready, I say launch it soon.

Surface Phone
With right marketing, even a little teaser of the Surface Phone will be enough to grab eyeballs

With a new Surface event next month, they can at least show a teaser to keep the customers excited. A little trailer, a short demo and the right marketing magic, the Surface Phone ought to gain a position in the hearts of millions. Please Microsoft, do something! People are not that forgiving anymore, burn them again, and they’ll make sure to never look back. At least, I won’t.

Let’s face it, Nokia popularized Windows Phones with their Lumia lineup. Then came a time, when Microsoft purchased Nokia, screwed up the phone business and destroyed the legacy of what was once the greatest phone makers of all time. With Nokia back in the game with their Android powered devices, should the loyalists finally take the plunge? Let’s find out.

Nokia Lumia, a glorious past

Microsoft was in the phone business long before Windows Phone materialized. Almost all the handhelds and PDAs were powered by Symbian, Blackberry OS or Windows Mobile. OEMs like HTC, Samsung and others made a lot of Windows powered smartphones which were popular in the market. This was until Apple came out with the iPhone and Android followed suit. Symbian failed to catch up-to iOS and something needed to be done. That’s when Nokia Lumia was conceived. The marriage of Nokia’s superior hardware and Microsoft’s newest take on the Mobile operating system quickly garnered a lot of attention.

Nokia
The gorgeous Lumia 800 received a lot of praise

The Lumia 800, the first Nokia Windows Phone was welcomed warmly for it’s fresh design choices and top notch build quality. Many more devices followed and lot of them won awards. The Lumias 920 and 925 still goes down as one of the best looking smartphones in the history. Every inch of these beauties screamed with oomph and they were indeed sexy.

When Microsoft took over the phone business from Nokia, the quality and design started to fall. There were no more eye-catching designs and most of the phones looked the same. Furthermore, Microsoft decided that color choices were not important, and trimmed down the lineup with fewer colors. The Lumia 830 was probably the last good looking phone to come out but it was marred by numerous hardware problems. Lumia 950/950XL, the last flagships were so uninspiring, that they didn’t look like a Lumia at all.

The Nokia 8, the first step in a new direction

After releasing the last flagship, the Lumia 930, Nokia was purchased by Microsoft. What followed was a sad story and it left the fans heartbroken. As a Windows Phone as well as Nokia fan, I deeply lamented the loss. But now they are back again with a bang.

All hell broke loose when the Finnish giant announced that they’ll back with new phones in 2017. The tech sites were ecstatic, fans were overjoyed and longtime users breathed a sigh of relief. For many, Nokia had become synonymous with phones and they longed to get their favorite companion back. And finally it happened, Nokia launched the Nokia 3,5 and 6.

There was however one major difference. Unlike the previous phones, the new devices were not made by the Finnish company. Instead they are manufactured in China by HMD Global Oy, a company founded by ex Nokia Mobile execs. While speculations about the build quality and ‘originality’ still remains, ultimately the devices carry the Nokia brand, and that’s what matters the most.

The Nokia 8, the first flagship from the Finnish giant running Android launched a few days back. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage which can be further expanded by SD storage. The display is a gorgeous 5.3″ IPS QHD and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Running stock Android Nougat, the phone also has a terrific Zeiss powered dual camera setup.

The stock Android experience is always a welcome for users, as it is fast, beautiful and generally gets updates quickly. Interestingly, HMD got hold of the patent for the Lumia Camera UI and thus one may expect it to land on these new phones soon.

What’s in all this for Windows Phone fans?

Short answer, nothing. Seeing Nokia back in action will only rub a bit more salt in the already wounded hearts of the Windows Phone fans. Microsoft has been a total failure with their Mobile strategy. They may pretend otherwise but it’s the truth. No company succeeds by burning it’s fan and user-base repeatedly.

The Surface Phone may or may not save the platform, but it’s still almost a year away. Anything Surface branded won’t be cheap and thus most of the current fanbase won’t be able to purchase it. That leaves us again with the question, should we jump the ship finally?

The Nokia 8 looks, feels and screams the brand we learnt to love over the years. Sure, they may not be real Nokia phones, but at least they do a better job than Microsoft Mobile. They run an OS which is receiving new app updates every day, the market share is still increasing, what’s not to love? Live tiles, you’ll miss and Android still feels like a cluttered mess when compared to Windows Phone.

Ultimately it’s up-to the user. Is he satisfied with his current Windows Phone? If yes, you can still remain satisfied with it. Microsoft has promised regular OS updates till 2018. If no, then the Nokia 8 is the right phone for you. It carries the brand that you have long loved. Even if you don’t like Android, you can get one of the new phones just for the apps. Most people carry two phones, so why not you?

Windows Store has a serious shortage of apps but that doesn’t mean you don’t get the basic necessary ones. There are a dearth of music players, browsers and other productivity apps. However one category where it falls short is the Note taking section. Granted, OneNote is excellent but at times one needs something basic for a quick note. Enter Textnotes, one of the best Windows Phone note taking apps.

The clean interface of Textnotes is a clear winner for me

Upon opening the app, you’ll start liking it at once. It’s clean, simple and easy. No nitty-gritty settings, not a lot of options, just a plain and simple note taking app. Just open the app, select a location to save your notes and start taking the notes. Nothing more. OneNote is great but it’s all those features and options in OneNote which sometimes confuses me. Believe me, I love OneNote but sometimes I just want a plain and clutter-free app for those quick note takings. Textnotes just saves me then.

A very minimal Settings page adds to the appeal

While Textnotes is essentially a stripped down version of your average note taking app, it doesn’t altogether cut down on features. You have an option to configure the app’s appearance to the dark theme, which is pretty nice.  Other than that there’s nothing much, and I am fine with it. For a quick jot down, I prefer a simple app rather than a feature loaded one which takes time to open.

Unfortunately the app is only available on Mobile devices for now. While PCs don’t need one, I believe that tablet users will immensely benefit from the app. Textnotes saves all your notes in the .txt format, something I really love. That gives you the option of portability on any device. You can open your note with Microsoft Word for a greater editing and formatting. All these nifty features certainly make Textnotes one of the best Windows Phone note taking apps.
